Mike Johnston, Senior Pastor

Pastor Mike began serving at Pleasant Home Community Church in September 2017. He and his wife, Katy were married in January 2005 in Estacada, OR and have four children. Prior to coming to PHCC, Mike served in youth and children's ministry for over a decade. He completed his undergraduate at Multnomah Bible School (2011), before receiving his Masters of Divinity from The Master's Seminary (2017). It is Mike's passion to connect people to God through His Word. He also finds pleasure in spending time with his family, running and being outdoors.

Jason Evans, Youth Director and Elder

Jason has attended PHCC since 2014. He and his wife, Emily, were married in 2009 and have four children. Jason is currently serving as the Youth Director for PHCC. It's his desire to encourage students to build a strong foundation of faith and knowledge in God's Word. In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors.

Jason Mills, Elder

Jason has been at PHCC since the summer of 2011. He and his wife, Lisa, have two daughters. Jason desires to faithfully serve the local church and seeks to disciple students to be complete in Christ, using their spiritual gifts and talents to serve the local body and the universal body around the world. He loves reading, hunting, fishing, hiking, and football. Some of his favorite books are: “Holiness” by JC Ryle, “Desiring God” by John Piper, “Communion with God” by John Owens, and “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn.

Ron Isaac, Elder

Ron has been a believer since his youth and has been attending and serving PHCC for over 40 years, teaching Sunday School and serving on the deacon and elder boards. Ron's first wife passed away in 2016, and he and Alice were married in December 2017. Serving the Lord in teaching and in leadership positions in the church has kept him busy in the Lord's business. Being retired, he enjoys traveling and has done extensive hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail. He also hunts elk and does a lot of reading in a variety of categories.

David Salseth, Elder

David has been a member of PHCC since 1974. He and his wife, Carolyn, have been married for 43 years and have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. He graduated from Westmont College and Western Seminary with a passion to be involved in the Great Commission. He ministered in the D.R. of the Congo with WorldVenture for 16 years. The last 21 years he has been serving international students in the Portland area with Missions Door. He loves mountain climbing, big game hunting, motorcycles, soccer and the Portland Trailblazers. A few of his favorite books are “One Church Many Tribes” by Richard Twiss, “Another Hand On Mine: The Story of Dr. Carl K. Becker” by William Petersen, “Tender Warrior” by Stu Webber and “The Invisible War” by Donald Grey Barnhouse.

Mark Nelson, AWANA Commander

Mark and his family joined PHCC in 2011. Mark and his wife, Devi, have 4 kids, varying from college age to middle school. Trusting Christ as Savior from an early age, Mark has a passion to see children learn about Christ and to have an opportunity to trust in Him. His family enjoys serving in the AWANA program together, sharing the passion to see children learn Biblical principles and truth. He enjoys spending time with his family doing everything from studying God's Word to traveling, sporting activities, hobbies and home projects.

Jonathon Isaac, Worship Leader
Barb Isaac, Administrative Assistant

Jonathon & Barb were married in 1994 and have 3 daughters. Jonathon grew up at PHCC, but they have been attending as a family since 2013, after moving back to the area. Jonathon has played guitar for worship since 1990 and has been leading Worship at PHCC since 2014. He hopes that the music at Pleasant Home allows people of any age and generation to express their worship to God. People who have influenced Jonathon as a worship leader are Matt Maher, Brenton Brown, Jamie Brown, and Bob Kauflin. Barb prefers working quietly in the background, helping things run smoothly, and has been the part-time secretary since 2015, adding bookkeeping a year later. They both enjoy creative hobbies; Jonathon makes wire & stone jewelry, and Barb enjoys crochet, knitting, and sewing.
